2005 Shows

Here I will post details all of the shows attended and to come in 2005.  I have not taken the Lightweight to all, I just went along and took some photos. Items Highlighted in Yellow are those that I attended or plan to attend with the Lightweight.

13th-16th Jan 2005 - Autosport International Show, NEC Birmingham

I did not take the Lightweight but did take a few photos and you can see them here

May 1st-2nd 2005 - National Kit Car Show, Royal Agricultural Showground, Stoneleigh, Warwickshire

Didn't take the Lightweight - As its not a Kit :-) although there seemed to be quite a few non Kits there.  Went on the Sunday and the weather was excellent.  It was a good day and I managed to pick up a few bits an pieces too.  I took a few photos of some interesting motors and you can see them here

May 29th-30th 2005 - The 2nd Beale Country Park Classic Motor Show near Reading, Berks

I did not attend this show last year but it is organised by the same people who organise the Breamore House show which I have attended for the last couple of years so it is sure to be a great success.

Beale Country Park is a tranquil 400 acre park alongside the Thames.  A perfect setting for a classic car show, with the Thames as a background, Beale Park has lots to offer.  Boat trips along the Thames, walks, play pools, exotic birds and a model boat museum are some of the attractions. For details of the event visit Greenwood Exhibitions Site.

10th July 2005 - Victory Wheelers Southcoast Internationals at Thorney Island.

I was told about this event by Chris down at the MOT station, he reckoned that there would be a bit of interest in the Lightweight as it was Supercharged.  The show is more of a Rod and Custom Event but I will take the Lightweight along.  There is also a Drag strip available, as Thorney Island is actually an RAF base with runways.  So if I get the chance I may well stick it on the 1/4 mile strip to see what it can do.

Details of the event can be found on the Victory Wheelers Website

I did get to go to the Thorney Island show, but unfortunately without the Lightweight as the Ignition system was faulty.

13th-14th August 2005 - The 10th Breamore House Classic Motor Show

I have taken the Lightweight to the Breamore show the last couple of years.  The show is nice because there are classics of every type there, which makes for a really good day looking around at everything from classic American motors to Vintage Rollers, with everything in between.  For details of the event visit Greenwood Exhibitions Site.

Unfortunately the Ignition system was still over in the US at the time of the show so I did not attend.

28th-29th August 2005 - The Hampshire Pageant of Motoring, Broadlands, Romsey, Hants.

Billed as the largest motoring event on the south coast.  This year due to a huge demand, the show is over two days.  So its on Bank holiday Sunday 28th and Monday 29th August 2005.  This was a great show last year and I will definitely be taking the Lightweight again this year.  For details and booking instructions check out the website. here.  Note that you must book at least one month prior to the actual show.

2nd October 2005 - London To Brighton Land Rover Run

The London to Brighton run was a great success this year, with over 700 Land Rovers taking part.  The weather was superb and the organisation was excellent.
